A Message from the President
I am Ricardo Martinelli, President of Panama.
We are a nation steeped in tradition and unique cultural diversity. We have become a global epicenter for commerce and trade, and we are only just beginning.
Over the last five years, Panama has undertaken an historic $15 billion investment plan to strengthen our position as a global leader.
We are driving foreign investment and generating hundreds of thousands of new jobs and opportunities for the Panamanian people.
We are also proud of our financial system. It is modern, stable, and secure, and among the best in the world. Our physical infrastructure system is expanding every day, and it is a model for the rest of Latin America. Now, our extensive expansion of the iconic Panama Canal is ushering in the dawn of a new age for Panama.
We have transformed our beautiful country into an unparalleled trade and logistics center, a reliable hub for international business, an attractive tourist destination, and an economic mainstay.
As my administration continues to guide Panama on its path to becoming one of Latin America’s most dynamic and thriving economies, we welcome you to explore all that Panama has to offer.
